Other shows were within a collegiate space, showcasing some of the paintings she had completed within the academic workspaces.
In her practice, Clark looks up to artists such as Max Beckmann or Henri Matisse. They are very different artists in their style, however, they both shared a similarity in their practice. That being that they do not refine the subject matter of their paintings. Clark's focus is to experiment with the principles of art, such as the shapes and color of the figure.
To summarize in a short synopsis of Taylor Clark’s work, her work is focused primarily on the figure. She is interested in themes of femininity, sexuality, and self-identity. Her current work is focused on the human figure and studying the variations of each individual person by studying the figure through different mediums, preferably oil paint. However, the major focus is using figural art as a vessel of self-discovery, painting self-portraits to get to know herself better.
